  • Elaichi Tandoori, on the High Street, is a good Indian Restaurant with vegan/vegetarian options

  • Gigi’s Italian is also good, on Magdalene Street, across from Glastonbury Abbey

Accommodation

  • Phoenix Rise Retreat (formerly Avalon Tor Retreat), 5 Ashwell Ln, Glastonbury BA6 8BG UK, 15 minutes walk to the Glastonbury High Street, or equivalent

  • Phoenix Rise Retreat is at the base of Glastonbury Tor and is also close to Chalice Well and the White Spring and Red Spring. The Riflemans Arms Pub, built in the 16th Century, is a 10 minute walk

  • Rooms available: single occupancy, double occupancy, double occupancy with ensuite

Getting to Glastonbury from Heathrow

Option 1 (fastest), approx. 2.5hrs, as low as 50GBPpp (4,6 ppl)​

  • Share a taxi to Phoenix Rise Retreat, approx. 2.5hrs travel, cost approx. 200GBP for 2ppl

  • 250GBP for 4ppl

  • 270GBP for 6ppl

  • All 1pc check in luggage plus 1 carry on per person

  • We will help you find other attendees to potentially share a ride with if you contact us

Option 2 (fastest), approx. 2.5hrs, approx. 250-350GBP for a sedan for a week

  • Rental car from Heathrow Terminal 2

  • Limited parking at Phoenix Rise Retreat, please contact us in advance if you intend to use this option

Option 3 (cheapest), approx. 3.75hrs, 40GBP

  • From Heathrow take the Bus (National Express) to Bristol bus station, approx. 2hrs 35GBP

  • Transfer and take Bus #376 to Glastonbury Town Center approx. 1hr 45mins (contact us for transfer to Phoenix Rise Retreat).

Option 4, approx. 3.5hrs & 100GBPpp (for 2ppl)

  • From Heathrow take the Great Western Railway Train to Castle Cary station, approx. 2-3hrs, many daytime ticket options under 75GBP, 1-2 transfers enroute​

  • Taxi from Castle Cary station to Phoenix Rise Retreat, 23 minutes approx. 55-70GBP

Option 5, approx. 4.5hrs, 85GBP pp

  • From Heathrow take the Great Western Railway Train to Castle Cary station, approx. 2-3hrs, approx. many daytime ticket options under 75GBP, 1-2 transfers​

  • Bus #667 from Castle Cary station to Phoenix Rise Retreat, approx. 1hr 15 minutes approx. 9GBP

  • Approx 3.5 hrs travel, cost approx. 25 GBP

  • From Heathrow take the Picadilly Line to Hammersmith Tube Station

  • Take Berry’s Coach from Hammersmith Tube Station to downtown Glastonbury (contact us for transfer to Phoenix Rise Retreat). Note: only 1 bus leaving from Hammersmith at 10:45pm, and the return leaving from Glastonbury at 7:10am
